Meet Shaelyn

Hey! Shae here. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you’d like to learn a little bit more about me, I’ve added some info here. Thanks so much for considering me for your wellness needs, and I hope that we get the opportunity to work together, whether it be in person, or virtually! Hope all is well with you.

It seems that every year, we add something new to this list. It’s so fun to continue to grow and expand, to better fit your needs. My current certifications are in Registered Massage Therapy, Fascial Stretch Therapy, Thai Massage, Reiki, and Barre. We’ve also recently launched our ‘Stretch Fairy Athletic Collection,’ clothing and would love for you to check it out in person or through our online shop!

I graduated in May of 2016 from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy 2200 hour two year Massage Therapy Diploma program, (Halifax Campus) and the following summer, became a Fascial Stretch Therapist through the Stretch to Win Institute, based in Arizona, USA. As a former national level figure skater, I’ve always shared a great interest in mobility/flexibility, and my Stretch Therapy Certification is where I truly found that my business began to blossom in the authentic brand that you see today.

With Stretch Therapy, results are almost instant. After just one hour of manual stretching, we are almost always able to see improvements in connective tissue health, the clients mobility, as well as their confidence. It’s so rewarding to be able to provide you guys with such unique and effective tools to ensure your best success.

Although we treat people of all kinds, I find I have the greatest success working with athletes, physically active individuals, those looking to imporve their yoga practice, and/or those looking to improve their advanced flexibility for sport. Pretty well anyone who has goals and aspirations of moving better is an ideal client. Flexibility is something that I have always excelled in, so having the ability to share my knowledge on how to achieve these skills safely with the younger generations always brings a smile to my face.

Since my Stretch Therapy Certification, I continued on to become certified in Thai Massage. Although many of the techniques are similar to Stretch Therapy, Thai Massage is more of a full body wholistic approach and more targeted towards the body as a whole, where FST is generally more specific and goal oriented.

The motto behind the ‘Stretch Fairy,’ brand has always been to stay as authentic as possible. There are so many manual therapists out there, but very few take the approach to treatments that I have designed. We want to do things our own way, and we want to help you win at life.

My business, much like the rest of the world took a complete stand-still when Covid-19 hit Canada. I used this time to further my education, and became Certified in BARRE fitness. BARRE is essentially ballet combined with pilates. These workouts are tough! They require little to no equipment, and are great for anyone looking to lengthen and tone their muscles, while putting minimal pressure on their joints. Barre is also ideal for any artistic athlete, looking to further their strength combined with flexibility.
